One year after the release of the EP "Seres Hibridos", in partnership with Furmigadub, Venga Venga launches SERES HÍBRIDOS REMIXED which gathers free reinterpretations of the EP songs, by the invitation of the label Ohxalá Records (Porto, Portugal), and created by other producers, partners and friends of the duo.

The Portuguese duo Ohxalá is responsible for the version of “Caboclo Presidente”, while the Brazilian Kurup gives some hypnotic tones to “Longarinas”. Badsista brings her powerful beats to “Quem”, and the song “Mama” was revisited and mixed in two versions: one by the hands of the Brazilian multi-artist based in Portugal, Cigarra, and another one by the French DJ and producer Rafael Aragon. The duo itself (Ricardo Don e Denny Azevedo) remixes one of its themes, deepening and speeding up the protestive beat in “Cura”.

As the cherry on top, it's got the Brazilian VJ & Visual Artist, Veruska Girio aka Astronauta Mecanico, who currently signs the visuals for the duo's concerts, the development of a serie of conceptual videos, which will be released daily, between 15th to 20th of November, presenting each of these remixes, creating a motion picture of the EP in the end.

VENGA-VENGA is the multidisciplinary project of the artist couple Ricardo Don (vocalist, music producer, lyricist, DJ, performer and visual artist) and Denny Azevedo (vocalist, composer, DJ, performer and beauty artist). They started in 2013, and today it is an itinerant cultural movement that brings together music, performance, poetry, parties and photography, video art and urban interventions, dialoguing with sexual diversity, hedonism and migration in the form of aesthetic appeal.

Currently based in Lisbon, with 2 EPs already released and 3 official remixes produced, several soundtracks and dj-sets, they musically work on electronic music fusion, where they show their Brazilian roots influences where they go, a contemporary mix, an identity patchwork and artivism.

Seres Híbridos, o segundo EP da Venga Venga, lançado entre Portugal e Brasil no final de 2019, foi produzido em parceria com o músico paraibano Furmigadub. Misturando influências regionais e beats eletrónicos ritmados pela sonoridade do grave brasileiro, Seres Híbridos é composto por cinco faixas que trazem o olhar da dupla queer sobre um Brasil devastado por crises políticas e sociais, mas também sobre um mundo em que a intolerância e o conservadorismo voltam a ganhar terreno.

Agora, um ano depois, a convite da label portuense Ohxalá Records, Venga Venga lança o Seres Híbridos Remixed, que reúne releituras livres das canções do EP, criadas por outros produtores, parceiros e amigos do duo.

A dupla portuguesa Ohxalá é responsável pela envolvência da remix de “Caboclo Presidente”, enquanto o brasileiro Kurup confere tons hipnóticos a “Longarinas". Badsista trás seus beats potentes ao remix de “Quem” enquanto a música “Mama” foi revisitada e mixada em duas versões: uma pelas mãos da multiartista brasileira radicada em Portugal - Cigarra, e a outra pelo DJ e produtor francês Rafael Aragon. A própria dupla Venga Venga remixa um dos temas, aprofundando e acelerando a batida protestativa de “Cura”.

Para coroar o lançamento a VJ e artista visual brasileira Veruska Girio a.k.a. Astronauta Mecanico, que atualmente assina os visuais dos concertos da dupla, desenvolveu uma série de vídeos conceito, que serão lançados diariamente, entre 15 e 20 de novembro para apresentar cada uma das remixes, formando no final a “motion Picture” do EP.

Iniciado em 2013, a Venga Venga é um movimento cultural itinerante que reúne música, performance, poesia, festas, fotografia, vídeo-arte e intervenções urbanas, dialogando com a diversidade sexual, o hedonismo e as migrações em forma de comoções estéticas.

Atualmente sediados em Lisboa, contam com 2 EPs e 3 remixes oficiais editados, diversas trilhas sonoras e vários dj-sets. A O projeto musical da Venga Venga trabalha sonoridades enraizadas com a eletrónica de fusão, evidenciando em particular as suas raízes brasileiras influenciadas pelos lugares por onde viajam, resultando num patchwork contemporâneo, identitário e a(r)tivista.
